Hi there! Slight change of plans. I’ve set up two more blogs for my work at college. Industry exercises and digital environment buttons are on the left linking you strait to they're page. I’ll keep this blog open for any big news but from now on I’ll be posting two to three times a week on ether of these two blogs.

Back at Uni

Yes I am back at college. Summer was good, didn’t get as much done as I would have liked but oh well.

One week in and already got three projects to keep on top of. Here is a brief intro to them and some research I’ve started over the last few days. of

Digital Environment

The digital environment project is group based. We had to come up with a team name and theme for the environment.

I made a short story to help grasp the setting.

‘In the early mid century, an old man is working at a wind farm. Wind power is used to make electricity which is then stored in large batteries, and then carried down to the towns to power the houses. His windmill is old, and a message is left on his door telling him a new power plant is being made and his windmill will soon be obsolete.
The remainder of the story is that he turns his windmill into a makeshift helicopter and he flies away’

I started searching for research online looking at different forms of windmills and how they work. I did find some but I’m still trying to find out about copyright in order to post any of them here. When I find out I’ll edit this post or say so in a later post.

What I do have is some of the photos taken from when the family bungalow was having its loft conversion. The beams of wood and slops make great textures and show how they work just to hold up the roof.

Industry Exercises 1

For the industry exercises project I went with the character design brief. I do want to do character concept for a career, so seemed to be the best choice to see if I can do it and whether it holds up with industry standard.

We were given a choice of characters for a list. I have gone with 'Wee Eck McGlone' an old Scottish zoo keeper. I immediately thought of a few concept ideas when I heard the description.

I did have a go at as many different shaped heads as I can think of so once I choose one I’ll then work on the body.

so yeah first post of the new college year I’ll probably stick with a weekly post rather one now and again. I’ll post more often on the learning journal but keep in mind I’ll be spelling for myself so grammar won’t be all that. p>

first up i'm still woking on Stefan's poem porject's and i'm trying to do some colour images but i dont like any i done. i'll post a skech page just to show i'm still haveing a go at it just not happy with it.

I've also got a firend makeing a yahtzee toy for me. well i am paying her :/
i only sent her the side and front vewis a few days ago so dont exspect to see anything soon. unless she posts it on her devent page :/ i'll post a link there just in case .

What i've been/am going to be up to

I should have posted something earlier but I keep holding back for one reason or another but I’m here now and goanna tell you lot what’s been going on.

Ok start with the hardiest stuff. Stefan has been offering work to do a few animations for him and I got on bored to do some of the charter designs for some poems he's made himself. i have been finding it very Interesting but i've been busy for the past week and a half and have'ent had the time to do any. i'll probably get back on as soon as i finish this post.



cant say too much about the project but here is a bit of consept i've been doing for him and what the charter sheets would look like. thats if the file hadent be corupted haf way and i only got the have fin verstion

i need to add the watermakes becouse of Stefan but you should still beable to see ok.

As much as I am enjoying the payed work I still am working on my own projects. we have the Yahtzee comic i'm still working on. been about a year in devlopment but i'm getting it down on paper and it just might start to be seen by the end of summer. it will be reliced page by page as i get them done. for now i might just do a few animatons to get in the mood

still not finished but meh cant be bothed now. need to get on with more importent work

some clever people might have notice i've changed my background on the blog. :O
yeah it's ture and it looks a lot better but as soon as i finishd it. blogger now has added new templas to chose from ><>

Hummm needs more gears :D

There are a few other projects but i havent given them much thought. there is another payed work coming up form an old firend but aggggh! too much to think about!
